are people who have stds protected under hipaa from the DOH?
if some person were to get a virus like herpes or AIDS, do they have protection under HIPAA and what if it is just suspected, would it be a violation for a health care worker to look up but not disclose said info.

Yes, they have protection, and yes…it’d be a violation for them to look without cause whether they disclose or not.
