Before Hipaa Laws
before hipaa laws
Is there a minimum number of employees before HIPAA goes into effect?
For instance my employer states that he has less than 50 employees so he does not have to follow HIPAA laws
Yes, It is for privacy. Employers must also keep health issues of their employees private.
HIPAA is a federal law no matter how many employees you have..for medical institutions..there are restrictions..I just got out of the hospitals..if you specifics..I have a sheet here that I was given..I can give them to you..void in case of court order, to identify body in case of death, etc. If you work in health care, they have to follow rules..if they break that..it’s BIG fine and maybe jail time..IF you are interested I may have that info too in who to contact if they break that..My rights were broken too when someone called my family when I told them not too…I am going to have to pursue action on that..GL
