What training/certification is required for HIPAA?
On the health care provider side……By law, does one in the health fields required to get certified in HIPAA practices or any type of training? OR must they only be advised and/or taught the laws? Any other info would be appreciated also?
HIPPA basically says that the provider will not disclose the patients personal health information to anyone other than those that the patient gives permission to disclose the information.
That would generally be an insurance company. A spouse and/or the patients selected health advocate.
So I doubt any training would be needed. Just aware of what the HIPPA laws require.
