Is is a violation of HIPAA for ones personal info to be shared between clinics or its employees?
I participate in clinical research studies for extra money & this issue is important because of a threatening comment by a clinic manager.If its a violation is what recourse does a person have?
You probably signed a HIPAA waiver and consent when you signed up for the clinical study. Communications between health professions with your permission should not give rise to any recourse for you. If the clinic manager outstepped the bounds of medically indicated communications, there may be a violation. Ask for a copy of your file and check the terms of the consent that you signed.
