Employer Hipaa Laws
employer hipaa laws
where can i go to find info on when a employer breaks hipaa law by calling your doc and asking him to release?
i was suppose to be in a cast for 6 wks but on the 5wk my employer called the foot specialist and asked him to send me back to work. this happened plus i had no physical therapy. i had to work three months on a fractured foot before the cast was put on, where can i find info on this matter.
what i mean is my employer called the foot spec. to release me back to work not release of med records. my employer worked me on a fractured foot for three months and this is before i got my cast on, then after that i have had problems with foot leg and back pain. my thing is where in the hipaa law can i find that section about what my employers done.
Norton is correct. If the physician released any of your information without your permission, then the physician is in violation of HIPPA, not your employer.
