Can She Sue For Hipaa Violation?

Ok…My bestfriend recently applied for a job took a drug test and the results were sent to her previous employer not the job she was applying for. The previous job had no rights to the drug test results and then proceeded to forward them to her prospective job. After the “old” job forwarded the info she was fired from the “new” job. Like I said the “old” job had NO rights to the information and still recieved it via the lab. The lab has since call my friend and told her of the mistake and asked how they could rectify the problems it has caused her. And admitted total guilt in the mistake. Can she sue and what can she get out of it?

file a complaint, posting another link here, someone screwed up and they arent exempt from the law.
