explain hipaa law
What is the HIPAA LAW?
Could you please explain the HIPAA law to me?
What it does?
What it stands for and where the law started?
Thanks for your time.
& No, this is not a homework assignment. *smiles*
HIPAA stands for Health Information Portability and Accountability Act.
Basically it means anyone with access to confidential and sensitive health information,i.e. patient records and files must be accountable and responsible when transporting, accessing, or using this info. I’m not sure the exact year it came into effect i think it was 1993? Somewhere in the early 90′s i know that.
