HIPAA Violations. Is it a violation to access someone’s medical information with just cause?
Someone at my job went out of there way to call a friend to find out why I was out on Administrative Leave. Of course, it was due to a medical situation. Now my business is all across the office. Is that a violation of HIPAA and if so provide the source. Going to file a formal complaint with my employer.
If they got the information from the drs office or such then it is a HIPAA violation. IF it was someone you confided in then, no its not a violation just bad manners.
