When Will Various Central Government Bureaus Be Able To Freely Access Our Private Medical Records?
Today, HIPAA prevents unauthorized access to our medical records, but the central government will be taking control of all our private medical records. When will the central government have all our private medical records and which bureaus will have full access? Will the central government advise us when various bureaucrats access and share our personal medical records?
Good thing Obama extended the Patriot Act, huh?
The Patriot act, signed by Bush, already gives them this right. Next time you go to the doctors, ask to see the paperwork, it is in the part where they have to disclose to the government any information they may seek about you, including medical records. Your doctors office also does not have to notify you of this inquiry. However you can request in writing, a list of all people/agencies who may have made such quires.
