Hipaa Account
hipaa account
Did i violate HIPAA ? ? ? ?
I have an administrative position in a nursing home- I took 2 photographs from a camera phone and put them on my personal facebook account. These pictures were printed off and put in my bosses mailbox, someone that didnt like me. The photos are COMPLETELY unidentifiable as well as the facility itself. There are no visible faces, back of heads basically.
Is this true grounds for termination of violating Hipaa? -someone high up in healthcare told me no because its not violating patient medical information which is what hipaa is about!?
I was already terminated, the pictures were removed within minutes of notification of termination.
I wonder if I should get a lawyer and fight this ??
I don’t see how that would be a HIPAA violation. HIPAA is concerned with the privacy of medical records.
