Help!! This is stressing me out!!?
Explain how HIPAA Privacy Rules benefits the healthcare industry, patient, and physician.
Im really having a hard time on this i have done research but this has kind of got me mind boggling. I know what HIPPA is but i dont understand how its beneficial to physician and health care industry. Can anyone help?
So I’m guessing you understand how HIPPA and patient confidentiality laws benefit the patient. The patient does not have to worry about their office disclosing sensitive health information in situation where they may not want it. As to why it is beneficial to the physician, I would say that it is the confidence it inspires in patients. Because of HIPPA, patients are aware of the privacy that they are ensured by their healthcare providers. Because of this they are much more likely to be open and honest with their providers and tell the whole truth about their symptoms and health history. This results in more accurate diagnoses, or better preventative care, which is good for the physician, and I’d imagine carries over the health care industry in general.
