Hipaa and online photos =termination? (interesting story).?
Just looking for some input from others who might have experience with Hipaa and patient privacy. I took photos at an employee/patient party with a camera phone and posted the photos on face book, no faces can be distinguished and no names or personal info is revealed. also, the environment is unidentifiable. This was a party where others had camera phones, video cameras and digital cameras as well. Anyways, for this, i was terminated. But before hand it was clear that none of the women i worked for (that were higher up) liked me, more so- had it out for me. This is a non union work environment (unfortunately).
What is your intake/insight/experience?
Sounds like they were looking for an excuse to get rid of you, and you went right ahead and gave them one.
