Is this a HIPAA law violation?
My wife is cheating on me with a former patient. After looking through our joint phone records I discovered his number given his frequency and number of repeated calls. I have not contacted any other number in the pursuit of finding his. Since he is a former patient of her’s is it a HIPPA violation if I contact him directly after getting his info from our phone records?
Only if you access his medical records and get his number through that, you are not violating any HIPAA rights.
