is it a hipaa violation to call the mother in law to confirm an appt if the mother n law isnt on the paperwork?
me and my fiance went to the dentist he had his paper work and i had mine no where on that paper work was my moms name, but they knew who my mom was cause my little sister goes there, i called to get my papers transferred to another dentist and they were worried michael was not coming in for his appt, so they called my mom to confirm! is that illegal? no where on his paper work is her name and no where on mine except MAYBE in case of emergency they may contact her!
