hipaa calling patients
I was terminated for vioating HIPAA. Did I really Violate the law?
I admitted 5 patients at their homes on Friday. 2 of them had the same last name. I went into one house and called him the wrong first name. Is that HIPAA. The name I called him, was apparently his brothers name. I had no idea they were brothers and never mentioned a last name. Had I called him any other first name, this wouldn’t be an issue. I would like some opinions.
