How do I know if my medical call center is HIPAA certified? Well, if you do not already know, then ask them. They should be able to tell you very quickly if their operators have undergone HIPAA training. For your business’ best interest, make sure to choose a call center that does require the training.
Your patients are the most important part of your business. Since you have made the step to provide them with personal service through a live answering service, then make sure that their privacy is protected as well. The only way that you can comfortably say that your patients’ medical and health insurance privacy is safe is to confirm that your answering service requires HIPAA training for all of their employees.
Could Medical Coding become an outsourced job?
I am currently obtaining my certificate in Medical Coding. I just realized that this isn’t a real people job which could easily be outsourced. I dint know if HIPAA could really do anything to stop this from happening. What do you guys think?
I know that it will be a while before I wil be able to obtain a Medical Coding position so I am afraid that by the time that I have gained enough experience to go in to the profession there wont be many jobs in Medical Coding here in the U.S.
So my question: Will Medical Coding eventually become an outsourced job?
I am thinking of also obtaining an education in HIM so I may be RHIT certified and then continue my education so that I can become an RHIA but I am wondering if it will even be worth it if my job will be outsourced.
Medical Coding is mostly a trailer park dream occupation.
The reality is that this training (often in expensive and exploitative trade colleges) rarely results in a living wage.
