Did my hipaa rights get violated?
I lost my job for this reason. I know I am in the wrong but the bottom line I want to know is if my hipaa rights were violated. I have been sick and missing time from work. I didn’t feel good so I went to urgent care. I got a note for missing work. The doctor wrote I could return to work on the 21st but I still wasn’t feeling well on the 21st. So I changed it to the 22nd. I didn’t want to pay another co pay to go back. Anyways my job called the hospital to confirm the note. The hospital told them the that it should be the 21st. Were they leagally allowed to talk to my job about it? I never gave them permission to talk to my job.
