I have to give my professor a doctors note for missing class for mental treatment, does this violate HIPAA?
I missed class, there was a test, I was far away undergoing mental diagnosis and treatment. He is asking me to give him a doctors note, but I am uncomfortable discussing with him where I had to go for this treatment. What can I do?
Have the doctor write on the note;
“Please excuse (student) for medical reasons”.
If he has any further questions, tell him it’s personal and he cannot press you.
