do hipaa laws protect me from a doctor who wants to see some records?
say two doctors are treating me for the same condition.
does hipaa allow them both to see my records from the one who was treating me first?
say i treat with doctor a. i get a consult from doctor b. doctor b asks for my records. i say no. doctor b tells me according to hipaa laws, since im part of the treatment team, im allowed to see them even if you dont authorize it.
is that true?!?
