does this violate hipaa laws (health insurance portability accountability act)?
For an employer to contact th doctor office that an employee stated they were at ? Reason being because thev doc. Slip looked as if it had been tampered with? Furthermore the receptionist gives out the info.
even if it was a violation of HIPAA your employer would NOT be the at fault party it would be your Dr, there is no law that says anyone cant ask for information, it is only a violation if it is given
