HIPAA Compliance questiion?
Does any one know if medical billing information can be taken home for the purpose of billing, data entry, and/or cash posting
If you are working from home yes, otherwise no you can’t. Also if you are working from home, your suppose to have a seperate computer for your medical billing /medical coding work , and then one for general use by all family memebers.
Due to the hippa privacy act is why they suggest seperate computers
good luck
however if you work out of a office, i would leave it at the office
