What other HIPAA factors are placed on healthcare providers?
I don’t understand the “other” in this question.
The HIPPA law states that NO PERSON is allowed to share your medical information with anyone except for you. This means that your doc must not discuss your medical information with your boss, with the state or anyone else, without your prior WRITTEN consent.
If you are concerned about the receptionist, nurses, etc. having access to the information. It is a “need to know” basis. If you are their patient, they can access the information. If not, they can not. Its that simple.
If you feel that the medial office you visit is too open with your information, you can request a consult to file a formal complaint.
