Navy Bootcamp soon! Like usual question about MEPS?

I ship out in November. I just passed my PST and have been working out non stop. This is the best shape I have been in my life and do not want anything to effect my future as a sailor. So prior to MEPS i told my recruiter the entire truth, he advised me to “omit” certain things to let my processing at MEPS run a little smoother. What should I do? They are nothing big, just I got my contract as a Aircrew SAR and I think I need a security clearance.

1. When I was 16, got in trouble for throwing eggs and had to pay a fine.

2. In may had gynecomastia surgery, purely cosmetic surgery, nothing to do with functioning of any body part.

I have heard due to HIPAA it is very hard for them to access medical records, it is just from what we admit to at MEPS and boot. What shall I do?

You need to address these matter with Navy liason at MEPS before you ship…like yesterday. ANY surgery will need 6 months before you can leave…and also be careful about remembering what you tell them. it’s not the first time youll encounter military pre-screening and 2807 documents…

You will have several moments of truth in boot…but beware, these are just chances for them to DQ you and send you home.

Best of luck, recruit.
