I work for a nonprofit company. The board of directors decided to hire a Project Manager to start a research arm. They hired me. The executive director asked me to provide him with a free service as a study coordinator for his clinic. I refused. He asked me to break the HIPAA privacy law by following him in clinic and collecting patients data with out them knowing to “practice” and to have the data. I refused. He fired me because of “communication problems.” Can I win in court for him retailating?
