If a HIPAA violation is being looked at, what happens to the nurse if he/she quits?
What happens to a nurse if there is a HIPAA violation being investigated on him/her and he/she quits prior to being terminated? Then what happens???
HIPAA is a Federal Law. Despite quiting or being fired, the Feds can determine if sanctions would be required, including imprisonment or civil fines for violations.
