Can a workplace call to verify your doctors note?
I know there are things like Hipaa that prohibits healthcare workers from releasing medical information, but can a workplace call and simply asked if a person was seen in the office without speaking about diagnosis etc?
Normally, yes as long as no private information is released (why seen, etc.).
