HIPAA questions about privacy?
This morning I saw yet another Facebook post mentioning someone’s father was a patient in the doctor office where they work. If this not a HIPAA violation? I have seen friends mentioned by hospital workers as being in the emergency room and everything. I would love to find the official reading on privacy for HIPAA. I was reading about it on the Medicare site but nothing is clear to the average consumer. I would like to educate my friends on FB. Please help.
If those posts were made by staff yes it would be a HIPAA violation. Report it to the management at the Dr’s office or Hospital.
