Is medicade considered group or individual health insurance?
I am pregnant and was enrolled in Medicade. Late in 2007, I started a new job, and now I am not qualified to remain in Medicade because of my increased income. I have obtained an Bluecross Blueshield insurance policy, but I am worried that they will treat the pregnancy as a pre-existing condition and I would not be protected under HIPAA. Please help.
Pregnancy cannot be included as a pre-existing condition on a group policy, even if you didn’t have any previous coverage, so as long as your new policy includes maternity coverage you will be covered.
