HIPAA question help please?
What are some possible ramifications of a health care industry without HIPAA regulations?
I know breach of confidentiality, but can you be more specific?
With Hippa, nowwhere in the health care industry can they give out your personal information or phonto. NOTHING. Only to you or your Power of Attorney. They can’t even release medical records between doctors or medical instituions without your written consent or that of your POA for health care.
Supposedly. They aren’t supposed to tell anyone anything verbally, in writing, over audio or video. It includes financial info. But, they all yap.
Also, they really aren’t supposed to fax info between parties–even between medical providers, as faxes could easily head to the wrong destination.
