I was sent an email today from the director of my H.R. Should I be worried?
Okay…I work at a very large unviersity and I was sent a rather odd email from the director in Human Resources. This is her exact language: “I need to inform you of a mandatory meeting tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. The purpose of the meeting is to review HIPAA confidentiality issues. You may have representation at this meeting if you like. I will confirm the meeting location with you shortly.
Please confirm your attendance at this meeting. Thank you.
Should this concern me? I work in the health field by the way. So my main question is…what does she mean by saying “I may have representation with me”?
She means “You may bring a lawyer.”
