hipaa lost records
if i lost my job for violating hipaa, what else can happen?
looked up a patient’s record and the patient found out, i was terminated. How far can the patient take it? I did not use the imformation at all, but the pt. assumes I did, which is why the allegations. how bad can the punishment be for jsut acessing the record (frequent times)
You can actually get fined anywhere between 500 dollars and 25,000 dollars depending on how far the patient wants to take it.
