HIPAA Violation?
Is it a HIPAA violation to access my own medical records and reports? I work in a hospital and I don’t want to lose my job by accessing records illegally. I have access to my own medical records in the hospital I work at but I don’t access them for the pure reason that the network is monitored and it might be illegal. I want to print out a report from the past but I am not sure if it is legal. I could not find anything on this part of the act.
Any help would be appreciated.

Absolutely it is 100% a HIPAA violation to access your own records even if you work at the hospital. I’ve spent a decade in Health Information Management and that is one of the FIRST rules of compliance we are taught.
