What are the HIPAA guidelines for electronic patient medical records?
What are the security guidelines to insure privacy of electronic patient records that are stored on digital media and online?
I’m talking about just electronic records. I read through the 100 page HIPAA statute: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/administrative/privacyrule/adminsimpregtext.pdf
And I do not see them specifically address what kind of security a clinic or doctor’s office must have to store patient records and information electronically either through digital media or online in a cloud user interface.
That’s an 80 page manual,you need to be a lot more specific.
