Is it illegal to videotape with hidden cameras in a doctor’s office?
The employees and patients were not notified and some patients can be caught on the camera. There is no disclosure posted in the office warning that anyone could be recorded. Any information or links would be great. I’m thinking this is a HIPAA violation.
depends…are the cameras in the public spaces…waiting rooms?? hallways? These areas have no expectation of privacy and can be videotaped. As well as the nurses stations and supply and med rooms..just to name a few. But within the patient exam rooms…no, they can not tape you with your knowledge and or consent.
