Drs office processes bills a year or two after service? Isn’t that illegal?
This dr’s office I went to are known for their stupidity. They have had countless HIPAA violations, sanitation issues, and I have not been there since summer of 07. I am just now getting bills from 2006 or 2007 that their stupid medical assistantst just now bother to process. Can I sue them or otherwise report them for this? Other dr’s offices get my bill out at least 3 weeks or a month for me. Not 2 years!
No you can’t. What would you sue them for? If they are known for their stupidity, why did you go there? They have 3 years to collect on the visit. You should be grateful they gave you time to save up the money to pay them. Keep in mind, that they only have that 3 year time frame, so if you don’t pay up, they are pressed for time and will turn you into collections much more rapidly than a doctor who bills you promptly.
