do hospitals have to report military people if they get a positive drug test?
Im in the military and went to the hospital in town cause my base does not have an ER. The reason I went was cause i was dizzy so they gave me an IV took some blood and came back hours later to tell me the reason why i was dizzy was because i was mixing drugs. The drugs that they told me that where in my blood was THC and what i was given by the DOC. I told them that was falls cause i dont smoke weed. so i called some people and they said to take another one, i did and passed but they said if i didnt take the test again then they would have reported my positive results to my commander isnt that against HIpaa and against the law?
Due to the needs of military service – any information that is relevant to your ability to perform your duties must be reported to your commander.
