Does HIPAA prevent school nurses from sending a FYI notice that Lice is going on in your child’s classroom?
The school nurse told me HIPAA was the reason why a general letter wasn’t being sent out to inform the parents of lice in the classroom.
No it does not, But do you know in Indiana they can only send a child home if they find a live louse. They cant send home over an egg. That shocked me. Our school nurse hasn’t even checked heads yet this year. I check my children every other night. Thank God they haven’t had them in 3 years.
