employer illness reporting?

I told my supervisor (in cofidence) that I was being treated for ADD and that may have been partially responsible for a performance issue he made me aware of.
The next day, he met with me and asked me some questions regarding it and ask if the company needed to make special accomodations. He also stated it had been reported to HR and was to be reviewed by Legal.
Is this OK? Does this conflict with HIPAA?

Depends…sounds like you did not disclose your “add” to your employer at the time of hire. It depends on what you did that you claim could be related to your “add” …if it was bad enough coupled with the undisclosed condition I can see why they are taking these measures.
