Is this written coaching justified by Walmart?
I work in Asset Protection in a Walmart. Recently I was “coached” because they claimed I breached security by talking to other associates about past investigations. First off, Ive known many of the associates since middle school if not further back and have been friends and or acquaintances with a large number of associates. Second thing, I never mentioned any names, addresses,and or social security numbers. Nothing that would violate HIPAA. I simply told associates that I had gotten a stop over such and such item. Thrid thing is many times when I had talked with associates it was when I was off the clock, either being on lunch or at a local bar. Can Wal-mart coach me about this?
I agree with roger. It is not your place to open your mouth no matter if you are on the clock or not.
