can anyone give me some information concerning violation of the hipaa law and a list of attorneys?
i live in louisiana and a big name hospital employee released my kids information i called and spoke wit the human resource department maybe a week after my complaint was made the employee was fired on the spot im wondering is this a lawsuit dealing with the hipaa law and if anyone can give me some advice on contacting an attorney or knows an attorney who would take this case please inform me …..thanks alot
You have to show that there was harm done because of the release of information. If no harm, you can sue, but you won’t get anywhere. They fired the person responsible, so it doesn’t sound like they did anything wrong, just had a bad employee.
