I need a lawyer in Indiana for a HIPAA/HITECH violation that occurred to me. What type of lawyer do I contact?
My medical record was inappropriately accessed, information posted on the internet.
You must report this to the Health and Human services dept of the Federal gov. I f enter the term HIPAA on a search engine the complaint form should come up . Bookmark the web sit and print out the offending entry pages. The web site will tell you what to do. It is medical malpractice or civil rights law.
Please let me know how this comes out because who ever did this should be jailed. And the institution will owe you a set penalty. Let me know what happens.
