Is this a HIPAA violation?
One of my friends posted an unflattering picture of someone on his Facebook account. A friend of his who works as a receptionist at my doctor’s office left a comment saying that the individual in the picture looked exactly like one of the office’s patients. Is she violating HIPAA by giving that information, or is it just extremely unprofessional?
(Either way, I plan to take my business elsewhere, and I will be informing the doctor exactly why.)
if shes saying the individuals name yes. if she’s just saying it looks like ones of the offices patients then no because they are not being specific to that patient
