patient disclosure hipaa
HIPAA question please help?
At what point during the couser of treatment of a new patient should notice of use and disclosure of health information, required under the HIPAA, be given and why?
At the onset of treatment, because that’s the law. They have to sign that they recieved the disclosure before you can begin treatment, except in case of dire emergency (Like EMS is treating, or ER)
