Patients Hipaa Violated

Is it a HIPPA or HIPAA violation to use a room at a medical clinic when I’m a licensed therapy intern?
I’m a therapist who works at a Resource Center owned by the same company who runs a medical clinic next door. We are in the middle of a huge space conflict. We cleaned a room in their medical clinic because we were told we could use the space by the CEO of the company. When we went to use the room, the office manager informed us that we are not allowed to use any of their facilities because it violates HIPPA regulations. I have searched the HIPPA & the HIPAA sites to find this information and aboslutely nothing states that it is a conflict of interest or a breech in confidentiality. If ANYONE has any information, please let me know where I can find it. I’m going into a big meeting with the execs and I want to show them in black and white that it does not say we are violating HIPPA or HIPAA. It sounds bogus to me, because how could each patient that enters not be violating the policy?
Have you had any HIPAA training? IANAL, but I think the question is whether you have reasonable access to patient records that you have no business looking at, especially if you are innocent of HIPAA rules and regs. Did the office troll give you a specific reason why you were in possible violation of HIPAA, or did they just spurt it out and that was that?
