Sarbanes Oxley Audit
sarbanes oxley audit
I plan to do a thesis on Sarbanes-Oxley but don’t know what specifically (prob.statemnt) Any ideas out there?
SOX covers a wide range of things. I need to be more specific on my problem statement. I would be doing empirical research (data gathering using surveys, audited FS, etc.) that needs to be validated. Any good research topic related to SOX would be most helpful.
A couple of suggestions:
-the cost of implimenting SarbOx. It is causing a lot of smaller businesses to have to go private because they can’t impliment all the new regulations.
-we are not the only country with problems in the financial institutions…how are other countries handling their problems (such as China that enacted strict laws and drove down worldwide stocks).
-Was it really necessary? Did we use the proverbial shotgun to kill a fly. Managerial fraud isn’t that widespread, but SarbOx goes after everything. Could smaller legislation have done the trick, and now there is talk about revising the legislation considerably.
