sarbanes oxley cases
In writing papers how do I refer to something already mentioned in this case…?
I’m writing an essay on an accounting act named Sarbanes-Oxley. When I refer to it later in the paper, do I refere to it as “the Act” or ” the act”??
I would say only if you just used the name Sarbanes-Oxley Act in that paragraph or the one just previous to it.
Depends on how much later you mention it, and if you mention any other acts. If that is the only act you cite, then you might get away with it. In that case, I would write “the Act” or “the aforementioned Act”.
But it would be more appropriate if you wrote out “the Sarbanes-Oxley Act” or you could just write “Sarbanes-Oxley”.
