Should we be worried about all of these billionaires who are old, bored, rich, and in need of meddling?
Do we really want Soros, Buffet, Rupert Murdoch, Bloomberg, Ted Turner, and the like trying to influence America and indeed the entire world? They are unelected, have no reason to show restraint, have incredible power, and answer to absolutely no one.
Huge corporations have always tried to lobby and influence government, but at least people could vote out board members, boycott products, make laws (such as Sarbanes Oxley), file anti-trust litigation, etc. But with these bored and meddling billioinaires, they are not limited by anything except their egos. What can be done to stop these out-of-control egomaniacs who have undue power on the economy, politics, and our daily lives???
And no, i’m not a communist, in fact most of the people i mentioned are leftist commies. But i’m not talking about that. I fear the replacement of “one man, one vote” with “one billion dollars, one vote”.
No the ones that really worry me are the ones who think if you don’t pay a certain amount of income taxes shouldn’t be allowed to vote!
