How long do Hipaa violations stay posted in pharmacy?
I gave out the wrong RX to a patient (same name and address)
do you know how long that will stay in my records?
Someone told me it was 4 months… I work at Walgreens Pharmacy in MA
it was a mother with the same first and last name….
& no i dont feel bad that i gave the wrong one. they know that they have the same name….so when i asked for their first and last name you would think they would say somthing.
plus she didnt leave the pharmacy.. or the counter with it. she was like “this is my moms actually” right after she paid for it
As long as you don’t get 3 in 3 months and did a STARS report, you are fine. This occurs to everyone at least once.
